jasper65 6 Posted September 3, 2007 Report Share Posted September 3, 2007 Its mainly a word to descibe the state of Keeness of a Accipiter or Buteo in a state of Eagerness and readiness to Hunt, its a bit over used these days as many times a Hawk can be keen and put in a good flight and kill without being in Yarak. Alot of the old school Falconers needed birds in Yarak when flying Passagers or Haggards as these birds needed to be pretty Keen to perform, With Captive breeding and different methods of rearing birds are steadier and easier to manage!! thats not to say birds don't still come into Yarak as a good fit Hunting bird in condition should be there or there abouts on most flying days.
