dicehorn 38
I thought I would over a few threads, pass on various tips that I use, simply posting one at a time with photos to support where appropriate. The tips (hopefully) will be of interest to the novice or the more experienced and I will try to justify each tip - comments welcome!! These tips will not be calibre specific (I reload for 9 different calibres from 17 Rem to 30.06) Some tips will perhaps be more of my thoughts so that you can come back at me!! One thing you wont find is any shortcuts - that is not how I reload! In no particular order - just as they come into my head .....................but I have (so far) scribbled down 26 more to bore you with. PS Geoff, I like your new reloading bench! Tip #1 The Reloading Block Firstly I will say this - if reloading is a chore then perhaps simply buying factory ammo is the best way forward. On the other hand sitting down to make 100 rounds up in a single go is not my way of reloading, with that many to do, concentration will ebb and errors will creep into what you are trying to acheive. Usually I make no more than 20 rounds up at a time - I feel that I can give those 20 my individual time to ensure they are clones of each other. The likes of an RCBS Loading Block will hold 40 at a time. If I place 40 cases in the block I have been known to miss cases to work on and worse still, fail to put powder in a case ! Now with 20 in the block, as I attend to one thing I need to do to the case, I can move it to the other end of the block till the remaining 19 are all moved, turn the block around and do the next prep in your system.
