Second Lurcher

Recommended Posts

Question: You get a second lurcher after your first is full grown and doing what you want it to do. You get a second lurcher and let it settle in for a few days until it is use to its surroundings, you, and the other dog. You then let the two out together into the garden to begin to establish their relationship together. The pup lets say is about 12 weeks old and 25 pounds or so. They begin to play and the the adult of course is strong and playful. The adult rolls the pup a few times only in roughhouse play. How many of you have / had pups that don't want any part of it and take cover and how many of you have pups that would take the roll in stride and try and play one on one with the adult. Also, does it tell you anything about the overall outcome of the pup.

Ive two grown dogs one 6 and one fifteen months, just bought a three months old dog pup,he is kenneled with the younger dog they are fine together ,but I have to watch the older fella ,he doesnt like the pup coming up behind him and has growled at him a couple of times ,the pup just rolls over in submissive style offering his belly, most of the time it is chase me charlie in the garden ,but I dont leave them alone.I dont think you can read too much into a pups behaviour around adult dogs they are changing and developing all the time.
