gibby 0
Only rabbits can catch myxi as far as I know mate. Ive fed mixi rabbits (with heads cut off) to my ferrets a few times but only when they are just starting to get it. As there is f**k all meat on them anyway when they get it too bad and I hate the thought of it when they have all the puss and that in there jaw. But if they are just starting to get it then they should be ok. As for eating them myself  No thanks!

martin 332
By feeding them to dogs/ferrets you might inadvertantly be responsible for spreading the disease ,as,the fleas could change host(rabbit to ferret/dog and onto a rabbit on your next trip out). When I come across any mixy rabbits  I just tie them up in a plastic bag,and dispose of accordingly,so as not to let the fleas change host. After all it spreads quick enough as it is. Guest Ditch_Shitter
Lot of good and rather amusing advice from Millet there. Had me chuckling! " Burn ye Dog " Anyway, yeppers, Ditch Shitter has eaten myxied rabbits. Why did he do it? Why did someone start tugging at a cows udders and then drink what came out? I did it for the same reasons the initial question here was asked; The simple quest for further knowledge. We had no internet back then and I couldn't find anything in books so, for my own little contribution to the pool of knowledge, I tried some myself. Now look, decades later, I can put another mans mind at rest. How cool's that? Only tried it the once. Put one or two of them in a stew with some healthy rabbit. I could tell the myxied flesh as soon as I put it in my mouth. Had a slightly bitter tang about it. I finished it up though. Just didn't figure it was something I'd ever want to eat again.
