Working Pur Greyhounds

Recommended Posts

your right mate, thousands more Xs than pures in the field......... and probably for good reason lol greys are greys lets not pretend they are as good as GOOD lurchers as they aint!!! BUT one thing i can guarantee is a good greyhound will give you as much effort as ANY lurcher if not more!!! there specialist subject would be speed and determination to catch without thinking of any thing in the way!!! i no this is going to go down like a lead balloon on here but in my opinion the cross closet to a pure greyhound is the bull cross...........and again in my opinion thats why the two fit together like tongue and groove..............

when you step back and look at a good saluki x compared to a greyhound , the saluki x will know when to step up a gear , put the brakes on when needed and keep the hare tight , id wouldnt have anything else now

I love greyhound saturated dogs and would love to see a pure working.

I agree they are flat out which makes them more injury prone but by Christ are they fun to work. Heart in your mouth.

My 3/4 grey 1/4 beddy has got a greyhounds body with a beddys head and rough coat. He is a flying machine with the added prey drive and determination from the beddy. He would and most probably WILL die trying to kill.

Not for everyone but I love watching him work.

My bitch (sal/whip/grey) is the opposite and whilst she has had her injuries I can see her making old bones. She is steadier and engages her brain. If she hasn't got to run flat out then she won't and if their is an easier way of getting from A-B then she will think about it and take that route.

The 3/4 Grey is 100mph flat out, straight line. Boom. Think about it after.

If I could take only one of them on an all round hunting weekend it would be the 3/4 grey 1/4 beddy even though I know for a fact the bitch would put more in the bag.

Go figure. Lol.

Atb. Gaz.
