paulus 26
Clive Rees Can I just say to all the many people who have wished me a happy birthday THANK YOU! Can I also take this opportunity to bring to your attention the fact that the Government's new proposals on Legal Aid will effectively prevent me from going up and down the country representing those who have been prosecuted for hunting, shooting or fishing in contravention of the law. On legal aid, under the new proposals, you will be UNABLE TO CHOOSE YOUR OWN LAWYER! You will be allocated one by the State. Under legal aid I will be unable to travel out of Swansea or the immediate area. Of course you can always PAY PRIVATELY!!! If you disagree with these proposals please write to your MP since specialist firms like mine (and there aren't many of us) will be down the river. Thanks again to everyone who posted. Clive. paulus 26
Just a little birthday laugh. A client of mine was banned a few years ago from keeping animals. The RSPCA visited and found he had some dogs. Obviously they took the dogs. He can't complain about that, but they also took his BUDGIE! And they had a serious debate about whether to take his frigging GOLDFISH!!!They left the goldfish behind in the end. This is a true story.I have heard a few RSPCA stories in my time, but I thought this one took the biscuit.Clive. events co-ordinator 353
My old man was heavily involved with the hunting debate in Scotland so here are some tips from him. When you write to your MP make sure you do it in the form of a question that way they are obliged to reply. That also gives you the opportunity to further debate the question. We did it in Scotland till they were screaming that their offices couldn't function under the weight of mail. The SACS insurance looks an even better deal now.
Giro 2,648
Why should doleys get legal aid ??? I think its not on.. You can work and be skint and have to pay for your own defence. I think with Hunting crimes its grey area for most, but you can support some chav getting a free brief after robbing a granny in the street.. Insurance is a good deal as accidents can happen - folk can make false alagastions against hunters etc... Edited May 23, 2013 by Giro

I understand the basic pricibles for legal aid, but scallys just seem to get more than hard working people.. scallys will still get legal aid mate it only applies to civil cases not criminal, so the RSPCA will be rubbing there hands as most of there recent cases have been civil actions
