i have just acquired a couple of new ferret kits 8 weeks all gills and want to no the best way to introduce them to my polecat gill 4 months old.

i did previously have 2 polecats a hob and a gill in the same cage but was trying to get them used to my dogs and the hob bit my bull x pup and unfortunately the pup killed the hob. so my gill was alone for about 2 weeks untill today i got the new ferret gills 8 weeks i put them in to the polecats pen and she got excited and started biting them and draging them around so i have took the polecat out to let the new kits settle in.

how can i get all them to live in harmony or is it not possible

cheers

All you can do is try, personally if the bigger ferrets still a kit it may be easier than trying to introduce new kits to an adults territory, i would find some secure neutral ground such as a small cage, put the bigger jill in the cage & let the kits sniff her from outside the cage, then swap bedding from the kits cage to her cage several times , you may be lucky & they get along right away , but take your time , do it over a week or so if the initial intro's are a bit dodgy, just keep trying , but if either party become to stresssed i wouldnt push itthings tend to have a knack of happening while your work or asleep.

Make sure your happy all the ferrets are happy with the new arrangment so do it in the day when your there to supervise any scraps

Good Luck
