Time For A *@^%@*! Anti Cull

Recommended Posts

Now you come to mention it.........

Battery lead - On the back of the camera I noticed that it said 9v. Now not being too up on this sort of thing and being a bit concerned that I was using a 12v battery to power everything, I was worried that the 9v camera would get burnt out by the 12v battery. So I bought one of these and powered the camera direct using a 9v normal battery. Whether I am right or wrong on this, I don't know. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I will put us straight.

Monitor - This isn't exactly the same one as I used but it does the same and it's a bit cheaper.

Camera - This is the same one as Si used.

IR light - This is about the same one.

Power lead - This on is a bit overkill as it splits 4 ways. If you go for the 9v option for powering the camera, you'll only need a 2 way splitter unless you decide to add a DVD recorder. If you want the 4 way option, Maplin does them cheaper than this one.

Battery - When they say 'it's on a slow boat from China', this is who the saying was made for. Not that it came any later than advised, it just took all of the time advised! Still, unless you want to pay a lot more for something similar, there is no other option other than to get it from China (that I know of).

Sandwich box - Wilko special! I'm not sure if this is the exact one but the picture will give you an idea of what you're looking for.

Perspex panel - The addition of this will make the screen a lot more seeable.

Si's Videos - Below are links to el maestro's videos showing how it all goes together.

(I never could find the video showing MkII).

Best of luck with it.

Well I went back to the same permission today a little bit earlier so I got the last of the daylight. Shot one rabbit and watched in disappointment as it rolled back down its burrow :( Nice clean kill but unretrievable. Did a lap round the edge of the first field by the antis house and he was sat in his kitchen again watching me. I just gave a polite smile and walked past. Walked the edge of the other fields and didnt see anything so came back round as it was started to go dark so I wanted to sit by the main burrows. Got back into the field to see armed police walking up to meet me. I broke my barrel and they came and asked the usual questions and said that a neighbor had reported me. I told them who I had permission from and they said we arent even going to knock its pointless as your story adds up. Told me to carry on and said they will tell him im allowed to be there and doing nothing wrong. A win for the hunters I think :)

This is why i ring the police when i go on a new permmision, the cranks/concerned caller, are told every thing is as it should be by the police, and no law is being broken. no further action. anti's are deflated straight away and anything they do, could be braking the law ! and that puts the ball firmly in your court as far as the law is concerned. Happy you have sorted it, any more calls from this anti will be put down as "nuisance" by the police.

A definate win for us hunter's, well done and well shot, pity you could not retrieve it
