Deerhound Xs And Their Maturing

The fastest maturing dog ive ever had was a big old bull/grey dog. I have a dog here that can kill hares in the dead of winter in good numbers yet when im out with the missus and im not paying much attention to him all he does is bother the other dogs trying to play. Wierd dog,

As a general rule, The bigger the dog, the longer it will take to mature and dogs mature slower than bitches

I'd agree with that as a general rule. There just seems to be some misconception that DH x's take a ridiculously long time to mature and can't be worked until they are 2 years plus.
