The one 8,595
Just got in from my second nights lamping last night i drove to a farm and the guy had to reseed all the fields after the wet winter and i only saw one rabbit and one fox on the next farm . , Tonight we got a descent bag of rabbits there where a good few scattered about the farm but we made numbers on one small grass field , but the amount of foxes we saw tonight where crazy into double figures and a roe doe laying in a small plantation twenty feet off the road ,then coming home there was another fox sniffing about a parked up lorry at the side of the road ,still it was a good night Quote Link to post
iana 25
Same here mate, was out last night as well and saw 4 foxes. ( that's a lot for my area). Only had 3 rabbits just not the numbers about at the minute and the bright moon with clear skies didn't help. Quote Link to post
dazzz 421
Can i ask a question lads??? why oh why would you take a decent bag of rabbits off YOUR permission at this time of year? i likemy shooting but dont shoot rabbits as a prefare to run the dog, where you can just put the gun away for the summer i have a dog that needs to be kept fit but still i wouldnt dream of taking rabbits now of my land i would be ruining it for myself, you even said yourself the numbers are down well give them chance to re-produce and with a bit of luck the numbers may return Quote Link to post
finder 6
your right what you say dazzz but some farmers just hate the sight of them..especially barley and wheat farmers.crops just growing and rabbits destroying them. Edited April 25, 2013 by finder 1 Quote Link to post
dazzz 421
your right what you say dazzz but some farmers just hate the sight of them..especially barley and wheat farmers.crops just growing and rabbits destroying them. thats true mate and dont get me wrong i would do the same if need be, infact i started last season in early august for that reason BUT the lad said the numbers wasnt there so showing your face often and popping a few for yourself dogs/ferts should be sufficient to keep em happy and preserve your land 1 Quote Link to post

The one 8,595
the first farmer always moans theres loads of rabbits off the railway and as usual i was right they were controlled to a good number . The second farmer caught me and B.P.R. while we where ferreting a fortnight ago and asked us to look at a banking of gorse he burned last year and by the time we got there it was obvious there was a problem there but i wasn't going to put a ferret to ground in a place that size at three thirty in the afternoon , and then due to the time of year and with the amount of youngster's running about i prefer to lamp it so i did 1 Quote Link to post
