hoosier 58
To the folks that keep wheatens! How are the wheatens around the home? In terms of temperment, do they possess any guardian or protective qualities of family and property? I am researching the wheaten (and glen) for some above ground hunting. However, he will also stay inside as well. Thanks for replies Hoosier Quote Link to post

hoosier 58
I love those pics. Good seeing a working dog showing a versatile temperment. It shows stability. They show any protective qualites of family and home? Nice looking staff. Looks like heck of a draw dog Quote Link to post

Guest pip
Plenty, but with the lad who showed you the photos ,your talking about dogs that are the real deal, with peds. going back to the most famous of wheatens.I knowof show bred ones which are dodgy but the one shown ,well put it this way if i was after one i d go no further.Whether he d give us one is a different story Fair play to fellas like that who are working hard to maintaining the true Wheaten. If your after some real info on this type of animal,pm the lad,and if your lucky he may give you all the info your after Wheatens sometimes rep.for having a bad temperment IMO is largly down to crossing em with bull terriers, which some folks have done, and one in particular bred by a local dog dealer, would have destroyed animal ,man woman and child, hardly an animal to judge the breed by,but unfortunatly many in my area have.
