Guest ilderfryd
Hi Hob and Jill. Taking an angora ferret to a show isn´t going to do you any good. There is only shows for shorthairs ferrets. Point taking about the heat, but most angoras get very shorhaired in the summer to compensate. My friend has an angora ferret. In the summer you can only tell he is an angora because of his big nose. I can´t say anything about hunting, cause I don´t hunt, but I think Ferdinand would be an excellent killer. He likes to kill mice and he is very fast, though he is a bit big. Quote Link to post
Hob&Jill 258
and thats a very biased opinion towards the shooting community, your basically saying that dogs are working animals, and not pets. also are you against field trials as that is a form of showing? cheers flash I honestly dont have a clue what your going on about......Of course Im not against pet dogs......Where do field trials come into this :blink?...... Very nice (normall ) ferrets you have though, all look very happy and well cared for. Keep it up and one day you might be able to work them? H&J Edited August 1, 2007 by Hob&Jill Quote Link to post
Guest ilderfryd
One can never tell. But how do you make sure the ferrets return after setting them loose? Sorry, if it is a stupid question, but growing up in Denmark makes you know nothing about hunting. Hehe.. I hope my ferrets are happy. I do my best with them. Quote Link to post
gibby 0
But how do you make sure the ferrets return after setting them loose? With great difficulty! Usually they stay in the general vicinity of the rabbit warren you are working but you have to keep an eye out in case they try to wander along the hedge etc looking for the next warren. A ferret finder is also a very usefull tool and lets you know where your ferrets are underground so that you can dig to them if they kill something underground etc. Hope this helps;) Gibby Quote Link to post

You will be able to see how ferrets come back if you come over in the winter and I will take you hunting so you can see. Regards highlander. Quote Link to post
