youcanthide...BANG 1,051 Posted March 7, 2013 Report Share Posted March 7, 2013 can u use any radio scanner to pick up the 173mhz frequency from transmitters as long as it is rated for that frequency. found this specific 173mhz antenna that can replace the standard antenna so it will only pick up the one frequency good for short distance work and bush work when bird takes game in heavy cover. only as a back up system. saves falling on your back and breaking your reciever. also its more portable. antenna link: http://www.nhbs.com/rubber_duckie_omnidirectional_antenna_173_mhz_tefno_187436.html i know of some that rate the scanners but use the yaesu vr-500 as it supports all three telemetry frequencies. but im only after the 173mhz frequency as thats what my transmitter is so can i use any radio scanner?
