Blackbriar 8,569
I hope no-one thinks this question is out of order, so here goes. Does anyone have any personal experience of Milton Keynes ARC ? My reason for asking is because I may be moving there in the near future and I have no knowledge of the area. I am not trying to elicit hatchet jobs - just genuine, honest first hand experiences. I live in a very rural location and don't belong to a club at the moment. If I move I will probably join this club, so just sounding it out a bit, really, as I'm not sure what to expect. Edited February 17, 2013 by Blackbriar Quote Link to post
TimS 49
I live just up the road and had no idea they were there! I tend to go North up to Kibworth where there is a great shooting ground, shop, cafe and 2x dedicated air rifle ranges as well as a HFT course. Its a fair bit further from MK though - probably an hour drive. The guys there are great and us air rifle shooters are all a very friendly bunch. Cafe is superb too! Let me know if you need details. fxshooter 18
I have no experience of Milton Keynes ARC, but if you are in the area you should think about the club I belong to Midshires Marksman. The club grounds are near to the A1/A428 junction. We shoot FT, Iron plate, 10 meter competitions and you can plink to your hearts content. The club is a friendly shooting environment and the members are always willing to help newbies like me. Cheers. Russ Quote Link to post
PaulEamonn 37
Well Blackbriar, this is the third reply to your thread without a reference to the Milton Keynes Club because I don't know anything about it either! However, I will echo Tim's comments regarding the Kibworth Gun Club. They really are a good crowd and well worth a visit before you decide which club to give you allegiance to. I see from your profile that you live in Northants. Well, depending on which part, Kibworth is really quite close and maybe actually closer than Milton Keynes. I'll see you there sometime maybe. Blackbriar 8,569
Thanks for the replies so far, chaps. I am already aware of Kibworth, but if/when I move, it will take me about 30 miles further away than I already am !! Midshires sounds good , though. May well check that one out, fx !! Milton Keynes ARC, as best I know, is based on a farm in Hanslope, but, as I've said, I have absolutely no knowledge of the area and I'm a stranger to clubs generally, so all info is much appreciated ( I can only afford to belong to one! ) Cheers Quote Link to post
