New perimission.

Recommended Posts

Passing a field today, and saw a tractor near the gate,so,I stopped to speak to the tractor driver.I mentioned how many rabbits I had seen on the land lately, and asked if he needed any help to clear/control them.He gave me the number of the farmer, and, within a few hours he was duly signing my permission slip.I will be walking the land tomorrow, but,I know there are loads of rabbits, and pigeons and also quite a few canada geese and a few foxes that visit the nature reserve next door.Plenty of ferreting for the winter.

So,for all of the young 'uns on this and other sites, get out there and ask the question. You won't get any permission playing x-box in yer bedroom.

Hi Dale,I think that when you ask for any permission you have to....

1) be polite

2) if you have ferrets, then ask firstly for ferreting permission.

3)If you do get the permission, then don't push it straight away, wait till you have been there a while before you ask for shooting.

4)Tidy yourself up(shirt/tie etc.)

5)make sure you are a member of BASC/CLA,and,explain that this gives you insurance.Take your membership card with you.

6)drop in a bottle of whiskey to the farmer after he gives you the permission.

7)Oh,and try and find out who his neighbours are, and,if it might be worth asking them as well.

8)Don't try and talk to the farmer about something you know nothing about, unless it is to ask questions(they like that).

9)If you're young then don't be frightened to call him sir.

10)If you live near me,then give me a shout and help come and christen it for you. :whistling::clapper:

GOOD LUCK MATE!!
