A Good Sunday Morning On My Own

Went out last sunday to do some holes ive seen whilst the snow was on the ground. Never knew they were there till the foot prints and droppings appeared.

Loaded the 3 ferts in and never seen them so excited when i boxed them up!!, they definatley knew where they were going.

Arrived at one of my permissions and walked the short distance to the holes. The first set was 20 holes and netted up and double checked to make sure i hadnt missed any. Put my polecat ferret down first on her own just to see what the response would be and began to follow her about with the finder. She was moving well so put one of my albinos in and within a minute the first rabbit popped out into the net swifly followed with the albino behind. Put her straight back in and decided to put the third one in. They were all moving about and popping in and out then they all were in the same area so i knew they were on a rabbit. The locator showed 2 foot so began the dig. once id done a foot i checked again and could here the noises of the kill in process. By the time id got there it was all over and two of them had the head and one had the back and they werent letting go!!. After another half hour or so on more popped out and decided clear up and move on to the next set which was about 50 yards away.

Netted up here only 8 holes and put two ferrets in, one at each end of the set. Within a couple of minutes the first rabbit was out. Then it all went quiet for a bit untill after 20 minutes or so the second Rabbit was in the bag. Decided then that was enough and packed up. Then i went for a mouch with the rifle and picked up 2 more tha were out grazing after the snow melt..All in all 7 rabbits and a lovely peaceful day out, couldnt ask for any better.
