Would You Breed An Older Jill

got two here ones about 5year old the other 6,not quite pensioners i know but both excellent workers,not sure what age you consider they worth breeding off and im just not sure how much longer they got as iv heard most ferrets die of age related diseases rather and old age itself although not sure how true that is.

 

just wandering if i should be thinking of taking a last litter this year from either of them as i have no young to bring on for next season so purely for my own use cheers

Nothing to stop you breeding them and a good thing about breeding older ferrets is they dont seem to have such big litters as younger ferrets

No not that i would breed anyway but i wouldnt risk loosing one of them.

have breed till 9 yrs old and has already been said dont have big litters.

Once their healthy and there good workers i would breed them at any age over their first season and as said by others small litter sizes too.
