cyclonebri1 8 Posted January 1, 2013 Report Share Posted January 1, 2013 hi guys, i find this interesting. i have a permission which i have held for many years. it was a great year round crow (and rabbit) perm. the crows were thick through the summer but still around in good numbers through the winter.......... until a few years ago 2009 ish when we had the first of the bad winters. that year the crows cleared out to the nearest towns. they were everywhere in the small towns and all the people were complaining about them. the next couple winters were also bad and the crows did the same. this winter and last were no where near as bad but still no crows around. my thinking is that they have quickly learnt that the pickings are much easier in the towns during winter so they bugger off. no brainer for them really. just interesting to hear others talking about the same thing in other places. cheers P We drove accross most rural Lincolnshire and back yesterday, there were bloody millions of them on the fields.
