Making Use of Rabbit/Fox/Deer skins

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I'm just looking for a few opinions on this one.

We manufacture a couple of different tanning kits for tanning any skin from mouse size up to as big a skin as you like. It can be hair on or hair off tanning i.e. leather.

We're looking at taking the tanning kits and branching out into different areas and I would like to know what you thought.

This link is to the "White tan tanning kit" which is best for any mammal skin up to fox size http://sportingcutlery.co.uk/tanning-kits/one-bath-tanning-systems/cp0502.html

This links is for the other tanning kit - "K-Tan" which will also do fox skins but will also do anything larger that you would care to tan http://sportingcutlery.co.uk/tanning-kits/brush-on-tanning-systems/cp06.html

If you are going to be using the leather/tanned skins for clothing, rugs, cushion covers, throws or basically anything other than taxidermy, you will be best off using Supa Soft Oil too which is here http://sportingcutlery.co.uk/tanning-kits/super-soft-oil/cp84.html

Anyone who has done this sort of thing before may have used another of our websites - glasseyes.com or snowdoniasupplies.co.uk - all run by us.

Let me know your thoughts on these as I'd be interested to hear anything you have to say.

Also, if anyone is interested in anything on the site we have a 10% discount on until the 19th of December. Just use 'Merry Xmas' as a coupon code at the checkout.

Hi Joel,

You mix the whole kit up and store what you don't use. The stuff that you haven't used lasts indefinitely.

As for the oil, it'll do the same amount of skins as either of the kits - K-Tan will do up to 3 large sheep skins and the white tan kit will do up to 30 rabbit skins.

Hope this helps

Sam
