green oval 8
Hi, i've just been to look at a mossberg maverick(i think) in .243. Does anybody know what they are like? The whole package, rifle, hushpower moderator and hawke scope comes in at £550, i was pleasantly surprised at the feel of the gun. I know its not in the same league as a Tikka or remmy 700 and i'm not expecting it to be. Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Should be ok mate, most modern rifles will outshoot their owner, straight out the box, sounds like a good deal, not sure about the hawke scope on it mate, unless its an endurance 30,but you can always swap it for something better when funds allow,if the rifle feels well balanced ect, then why not,Mossberg have been making guns for a long time,so the quality should be ok,the only other option I would explore,is to look for a second hand Howa/weatherby,absolutely cracking rifles for the price,in fact they shoot as well, and the quality of the engineering is as good if not better than some rifles costing 3 times as much, good luck with whatever you buy mate, enjoy. the kid 3
A secondhand weatherby/howa would be a better option. Most things that Mossberg make are crap in my opinion. Quote Link to post
