danny2391 1
Hi I,m looking at getting a new lurcher pup but I,m still not sure my last two have been 5/8 3/8 collie greyhound from hancocks and have been really good workers but a more local breeder has a greyhound/kelpie cross does anyone work them or know any further details about them ? Terrier Sam 297
Do it mate. If the parents work well you wont go wrong if your after an all rounder. If your after something just for rabbits I'd go for something with more sighthound i.e. 3/4 cross. I've never had one myself but all the ones that I've seen have been very good all rounders with plenty of balls and brains. Hope this helps Sam Quote Link to post
Neal 1,791
After previously owning several collie based lurchers, I bought a collie/kelpie x greyhound and I personally found him to be the best lurcher I'd ever had. Ironically, I liked him so much that I bought a pure kelpie twenty months later. That was thirteen years ago and I now have three kelpies and no lurchers. I wouldn't go so far as to say that kelpies are better than collies but I'd definately say that they suit me better. Edited January 12, 2013 by Neal Quote Link to post
