out for a look

Whent out last night with a mate (also on this site) just to try and give his dog a few slips and took my 9 month beddi whip just so she could have a watch, but with a full moon and no wind it dint look promising..along with the shortage of rabbits around here this year anything would have been a bonus! Walked the 1st few fields and there was a couple of rabbits about but not worth slipping a dog on, as soon as I switched the lamp on the rabbits we're making there way to the hedge row. Whent to the next place which was a golf course and within 2 mins switched the lamp on and old raynard was bombing across the course so yet again things didn't look to good on the rabbit front, made our way to the top of the course and spotted a rabbit so bri got as close as he could I swithched the lamp on and then slipped the dog the rabbit took a 180 turn and was steaming along with dog on its ass, my pup was watching from beside me pulling like mad! (Which I was glad as to show she was keen to go but I will hold of from slipper her for a little while longer) the course lasted all of about 10 seconds when the rabbit hit the hedge and was no longer to be seen but bris dog done well to keep up with the bunny as we all know how fast they can be on a golf course! Made our way back down to the car and tried a couple more places but rabbits were either to tight to the heges or gone before we had a chance to let the dog go! So a couple of hours out and at -2 degrees we decided to call it a night. Not rabbits for the bag but a nice walk was had. Be good to get out again soon but find somewhere that holds a few more rabbits! Thanks fer looking :)

Yea in all fairness tho it dosnt bother me to much as I think my lurcher would be more happy just being a house dog and giving her 2 walks a day lol, its just more for me mate as he just wants to get a few for his dog and she is keen as mustard! The rabbit situation is a hit and miss atm unlike in previous years when we could get anything from 10-30 a night. Times are hard but I've got a terrier to bring on now aswell and I have plenty of work for when she's come of age so as said my lurcher will be happy curled upin front of the fire and to go out on the odd occasion.
