diamond reticle

are diamond reticle scopes any good for air rifles got a cheap rifle last week the scopes mint so was thinking of using it on my hw80 its a simmons.3-9-40 would i get a better scope for less than -100 pound

Simmons were always a brilliant performing make of scope for an HW80 or any spring air rifle. These were around in the late 1990s to the early 2000s. No reason why this should let you down!

 

If only Hawke and co. made scopes that last as long on a spring rifle

I've got an old, cheap Simmons scope (deerhunter maybe) that I've had for almost 20 years. It lives on an old springer and its image is not as good as my newer and more expensive scopes but it holds its zero and has helped fill my freezer loads of times.

them diamond ret's are brilliant once you get used to em,ive had 2. the first i sold after a week,i did'nt like it.then i bought another and batted it out a bit longer with it.once i got used to it i would'.nt part with it..i dont think they'd be any good for long range,as the reticle would cover the target too much!!!!!!

cheers for the replies think ill keep it and see how i get on with it.think it may be a cheaper model pro hunter but its got to be better than the 4x smk one ive had on it the last few years.think ill spend the money on a tuning kit for it had one fitted on my 77k last year and was impressed
