Lamping Filters

I just ordered a lamping kit n its came with 2 filters. I haven't a clue what the filters are used for. Could someone please tell me what the difference's are with hunting with a red filter and a yellow filter on there lamps. Or even is they any difference.

i use a red filter .to me it seams to pick up the eye alot better mate. you can get loads of different colours .i think all the different colours are for thing not getting shy .but i think once lamp shy always lamp shy when had a dog or two up there ass . atb
