Genuine, wild, ain't no doubt about it, first in my entire life time and previously undreamed of ever managing European f*cking Quail!!! :icon_eek: If I'd been in uk, that tick would've been gold dust!

Just went out down the lower pastures this afters, to re photograph a plant I'd lost my shot of the leaves of. That done, I'm walking back across the just cut field, 250 yards from my cottage in fact, when a little ball of buff erupted from two foot from my feet. I've turned to watch it fly 20 yards towards some low cover by a ditch and, obviously thought; " Oh. Pheasant poult. "

But the old on board computer's actually come out with: " Pheasant poult? But that one looks barely six weeks old. And where's mum, rocketing out of this short cut vegetation. And that things bum is as round as a bumble bee?! (Something f*ckin wrong here!) And I know there's no pheasants for two acres around here. And that thing's flying 'wrong'. And its head's wrong in proportion to ..... And look how it flew quite low, straight towards that cover and curved down behind it! Google search of Ditch Shitters brain (4. 31 secs) shows the result: 'You've just seen a f*cking Quail, my son! :icon_eek: ' ".

Soon as I got back here, out with Collins. Sure enough. Bang to rights! They come here to breed. They're found on my sort of ground, in this area, at this time of the year. And I f*ckin nearly trod on one! A 'Tick' I genuinely never imagined I'd live to get! Reeeezulltt! :toast:

Now; If I can only crack a Corn Crake! :notworthy:
