Ideation 8,217
The best time is winter, from now until, about march, although a lot depends upon the amount of cover about, which is pretty bad this year. I would try to start off entering them one at a time on small warrens, until they get the hang of it. I wouldnt start them until at least six months of age, and preferably on warrens that a dog has positivly marked or that you have seen rabbits drop into. 3 Quote Link to post

R.A.W 1,987
Try to get someone to take you out pal. it's easier with two people. buy some gloves aswell got sung to bits on sat the nettles still biting hard. only work one at a time mate your just asking for a dig otherwise. a bit later in the year would be better theres less cover about. atb RAW Quote Link to post
Meroman 105
As Raw has already said go out with someone who can show you the ropes, use your ferrets and if they hunt well and good but if you are unsure about them run a proven hunting ferret through the warren after they have been through it to be sure....
