higgins 75
yes, sorry to hear about your pal's lurcher mate,a friend of mine had a beddyxgrey got knocked down,to cut a long story short, the bitch had her leg amputated, she's doing fine on three legs now, which begs the question, did the vets know beforehand that they should have amputated the leg,all the extra work gone into pinning a smashed up leg could have been suggested bcause of money and created extra stress on the dog, vet's are businesses, they are mostly trained to ignore emotional aspects of the job,if i were you i would question their intention as i suspect they are used to dealing with these situations and just want to operate so they can charge for a job, don't get me wrong when it's life or death the vet's are the people to sort it,other injuries i use my experience of past dogs that have been treated for similar injuries and work out whether the vets should do the job,i think sometimes you may have to tell the vet what you want him to do, but only if your confident, all the best, Higgins.
