Lewis Ste 245
Free hand/unsupported could mean lying prone without anything to rest your fore hand on with taking the shots. I know I'm not the greatest shot on the forum but I can still achieve 3/4 inch groups unsupported lying prone at 35yards if i really try. If we're to stick a drawing pin in the middle I'm sure 4 out of 5 pellets would be touching (not bang on the pin but overlapping) 5.5mm pellet+10mm pin head+5.5mmpellet on the other side = 21mm. 21mm>3/4 inch sorry to be abit anal about it but it but I don't think people should dout other people's shooting skill on an Internet forum. I don't feel like I have anything to prove to other guys on here I'm sure we will all see at the meet in october what other people are capable of if they have anything to prove Thanks, lewis Quote Link to post
Tron 173
Lewis, I dont think my comments Free Hand and Free Standing could possibly be taken as me saying such terms that means Unsuported/ Lying prone at all. Fact. Lying down isnt really in the same ball park as standing unsuported to make such shots. if you are happy how you shoot thats fine by me, I am not asking anyone to prove they can shoot pellet on pellet. After all Si has just posted pictures of such a feat when he and Davy was setting up a AA 410.22 rifle. But Si pointed out he shot the group with a bipod set up. I dont understand when you say people shouldent doubt other peoples shooting skills when I havent at all I have seen no one claim pellet on pellet groups at 30 and plus yards from a free standing stance and I certainly havent mentioned names! because I havent read anyone stating their pellet on pellet groups was shot from a Freestanding IE, Vertical position. I was just making a observation no more no less. At no time have I said I can shoot such groups. ATB, Ron. Quote Link to post
Lewis Ste 245
I pretty sure I know the post that made you say in your post about pellet on pellet at 35yards with a prosport in this case. I was trying to say that no one was got anything to prove on this forum and if they do post redicularce accusations they are going to be the ones who look like a fool at the meets if they attend and can't live up to what they said. I agree with what you said about taking one hole groups standing at 35yards I'd love to see the day someone can. Then si and Davy are both great shots and have video evidence to back up, but if say they both only joined the forum now and started saying without the videos about there shooting tales about 50+ yards shoots with spring rifles and only pictures like a lot of people on here. Then I think you would be quite hesitant to believe but what do they care if you believe them or not they know there abilities so what does it matter to them if you don't? Just because somebody hasn't been on the forum and got many posts doesn't mean what they say isn't true.I seen this myself with quite afew different posts. Nothing personal tron I just haven't had a rant in a little while Lewis Quote Link to post
Tron 173
No offence taken Lewis, perhaps I should say I have shot airweapons for over 60 years, modified them, repaired them, used them for all kinds of applications!. I was a member of the Stourvale Woodsmen FTC back in the 1970,s and we went to one of the first if not the first , Field Target Open competitions held down in Basingstoke, I didnt win but I remember I won a parkerised blade copy of a USA Marine knife for third place, the same year our club shot the first Open FTC Championship held at Bisley!! again I won a knife, a Browning stainless bladed lock knife in a leather case, That knife still sits in a drawer at home never been used! that visit to Bisley opened a lot of airgun shooters eyes to the vast distances that full bore rifles shot, and I remember to this day the tricks wind could play on shooting. we all saw on that day wind flags on the furthest range being blown towards each other! WTF!! it seems the wind was swirling around was causing such problems for the full bore shooters... That first meet at Basingstoke was the debut of the first Daystate PC shot by a employee of Daystate a guy named Trev, that first Daystate had a stuttering firing signature, as the valve bounced on closure, a sort of pff, pff, pfft. noise each shot. Jeeze I can remember things from then but I cant remember what I ate for dinner two days ago. anyway enough of my senile ramblings. Tron. Quote Link to post
milegajo 595
What! Tron, do you mean to say that once upon a time there was a world WITHOUT pcps!! My god. Sounds terrible. Harsh times for sure. Quote Link to post
