Interesting article on the BBC website

Sorry bud, could have made that slightly clearer!

If you read the captions underneath it explains that all birds have four trans somethings in their eyes which give them the ability to see a larger colour spectrum, including UV, hence the divided peacock photo demonstrating the difference between what we see and what fellow bird may, they use a peacock, but pigeons will be seeing roughly the same.

Mammals on the other hand have the colour recognition ability of a person suffering from red/green colour blindness, so a bit like your TV with the contrast greatly reduced, making their view of the world quite bland (see the squirrel photo), Plus Beatles see glowing stuff but not as interested in that!

What it proves is that covering your decoys in UV pen and brightening up your white patches on decoys may well attract more pigeons and possibly crows in. Also, Rabbits, squirrels etc are not going to notice what camo pattern you are wearing, hence drab clothing and gentle movements will work just as well.

Basically just underlines what many have said on here long before a guy with a Bunsen burner and Petra dish turned up!
