Advice on aa tx200 mk2 please

Recommended Posts

Hello i am new on here and was wondering if i could ask a bit of advice

I have just bought a air arms tx200 mk2 from a old guy that bought it 9years ago and has never cocked it/fired it/ put pellet in it.

I am wondering if there is anything i should do with it inspection wise before i fire it or just drop a pellet in it and give it a whirl?

Also there is a small amount of minor corrosion to barrel like a mild rust, whats the best thing to have a pop a this with? oily rag?

Thanks in advance

Hi mate i own a TX200 mk2 also...i susspect it will prob need new seal's and regreasing after all that time of no use here is strip daown guide http://www.severi.be/airgunning/TX200%20strip.htm Dont try this if you dont feel confident...if you dont take it to someone who does....As with the rust on the barrel tin foil i find works a treat you will then need a touch up bluing kit that you can get from most gunshops..Blue Wonder gun blue kits is great they also do a product to remove the oxidisation aswel...i hope this helps some mate im sure others here will chuck in other ways to help also

Spot on thanks very much for that mate

I have stripped down a few guns a weblet vulcan, bsa240 magnum and couple of others without to many problems apart from triggers which always manage to stump me :hmm:

I have some birchwood casey perma blue paste lying about somewhere il have a shot at it with, after trying the tin foil.

Where is the best place to shop for new seals? i dont have any spares shops close to me, i have used chambers gunmakers in past for small bits but 4 quid postage on something that weighs the same as a stamp irritates me a little
