david2363 42
Just spoke to Julie about kenneling my dog for a couple of weeks in the summer. I didnt know weather to call her Lurcher or just Bitch - anyway we settled for Julie. I have to say that I have no hesitation in leaving my trusty mutt in her care (even if she does sound as mad as a bag of squirrels) Good on you Julie, your a diamond. Dawn B 212
Are you talking boarding LB? You will need a lisence and the conditions since the new laws are HOT! Dont take this persoanlly, but you really need to think long and hard about it, its not an easy time. If you take money for looking after dogs you are boarding and now they will slap you like lightening. HUGE restrictions also, like somebody MUST be on the premises 24 hrs a day. What about insurance, if one of these dogs are ill? Who pays? its not like rescue where the laws dont govern (although they will be shortly) its one thing that has really been bought to task. You cant get away with "Im only looking after for a friend" because you taking money for doing it, you are running a business. Im speaking based on 15yrs in kennel and Cattery management, I tell you now, no way on this fine earth would I want to own one!
Guest Lurcherbitch
Thanks Dawn...If i do look after a mutt it will be in my house. as for being on premises 24hrs...if i am not here....the dogs aint either. I cant afford hols so staying in peoples houses will be a holiday for me Edited to add. This is why a horse and caravan is sooooooooooooo inviting. You cant bloody fart nower days without some arse getting on ya case. . Oh well guy's. I will not take payment for watching your dogs  Edited May 21, 2007 by Lurcherbitch

Simoman 110
Surely if LB is staying at other peoples premises all she would need is insurance? Also surely their is nothing wrong if she is merely looking after someones pets whilst they are on holiday and a donation is received

Thanks to her you get my services free I've always said, "you get what you pay for" Seriousley though a donation to cover costs would be the least you should be offered
Guest SJM
If you want to look after someones dogs and they are happy to let you and want you to take something for doing it then its no ones business but you and the dog owner
