Probuk 93
Hi chaps, just thought id share this with you. How many of you have been out shooting this year and sat there on the ground freezing your nuts off while woundering how much longer you can sit there for because your backside is aching and the wind is cutting through your camos and long jons making it feel like your nuts are being cut with a razor blade.?? I sat there a few nights back thinking i could do with a cushion and realised it would just be another thing to carry around along with my rifle, rifle case, and bag full of mole traps and fenn traps. Then i had a brain wave...!! Cycling shorts, cycling shorts under my long jons. There cushioned around the backside all the way up to your nuts and they even cover the big fella, So the next day i tryed it as i already own a pair.. and guess what.?...Perfect. My nuts kept warm and my backside was cossey and no aching. Another bonus is they fit quite high up towards the kidney area and as i have a bad back they give me extra warmth there aswell. As im 40+ and getting no younger, my back is on its way out, im pleased with the results from my cycling shorts A tryed and tested idea that works perfectly for me..just thought id share that with you. secretagentmole 1,701
I got given a set of Jack Pyke Hunter camo last year for Christmas, do not suffer any cold, I am 40+ too! Quote Link to post
AR177 588
Does it not get a little awkward to stalk and move when you have padded cycling shorts, long jons, and camo on? ATB Adam Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Depends how tight the shorts are, but if you can ride a bike in them you should be able to walk in them! Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
so thats why they ride with the bike wobbling all over the place.... Quote Link to post
Probuk 93
I ride 120 miles in around 7 hours and i dont wobble in them. I live in the windyest part of the UK so it can very cold here, to be honest there comfortable and warm and apart from that No there not awkward at all. Im not to keen on that Jack pike stuff, i like good old DPM. Quote Link to post
AR177 588
I like DPM too, as i get it free I like the jack pike stuff but i refuse to pay for it when i can use the DPM, However i have heard that it does not break up your silhouette/shape as effectively (to rabbits vision etc) as the realtree / jack pike camo. Is that just a sales pitch or is there any truth in that??? ATB Adam Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
DPM works, ask the rabbits and the pigeons, via a medium! 1 Quote Link to post

ATB Adam In my opinion if your walking around it dosnt matter what your wearing, your going to be seen anyway, Some rabbits would run and some wont. I wear my DPM and an old army skrim scarf under my hat and when i know im approaching where im going to see the rabbits i pull the skrim over my face and watch my footing, But when your laid down on your front and your rifle barrel and scope it coverd they see no danger at all. Again i just wrap an old scrim around my barrel and scope...That jack pike camo tape that i see on silencers and wrapped around scopes looks good cosmeticaly but stands out like a sore thumb and they charge you £8.50 for it...What a rip off. If you want to look like a bush buy a Yowi suit there miles better and cheaper and they realy work. I wouldnt pay the money for Jack Pike or any other reall tree gear.
