Plesant morning

Recommended Posts

Well thismorning Bird(Ray) from THL came over to mine to see if we could get a good deal on his rifle.....He owns a very nice thumbhole stock Webley Venom Sidewinder 8 shot PCP.......I have spoken to him a fair bit on the phone and as he's more of a dog man he was thinking instead of having a PCP that he only use's once in a while he wants to go back to a spinger as it makes more sence.......Anyhow i spoke to my local gunshophttp://www.fieldsportsequipe.co.uk/ on tuesday about a possible part ex for him on a HW95k.....so when Ray got here thismorning we had a brew and headed of to the shop......Once inside the guy cleary knew how little this rifle was used and come up with an offer Of a new 95k,scope and slip worth roughly about 450 notes...not a bad offer in my opinion but he had no 95 in the shop but could get one within a week.....Ray didnt jump straight in as he's just fishing about at the moment to see what deals he can get....so off to next shop http://www.valleyarms.co.uk/ Again to see what deal they could come up with...on entering shop we headed to the springer section and found a nice HW77 but it was second hand and had few scratches on the stock and then we seen a very nice HW35 brand new and Ray seemed to like this 35 very much as did i as it was quite light.....on speaking to owner of shop he took out the Webley checked it over but found no marks or dents or scratches on it..he then proceeded to chrono it and it came back at 11.4 but thats to be expected as its not even had half a tin of pellets through it...then he comes up with a stupid price of £250 which is nowhere bloody near what the gun is worth...but he did have a Sidewider already in shop so i guess thats why.....upon leaving we took Bryn ray's dog for a wander on some common ground to see how he reacts with lifestock as i will be having them down on one of my perms in not to distant future and obviously i dont want no sheep killer on my perm....but the bloody sheep and been moved so ray sent him over the fence into sheep field and he didnt even look at them(thats good enough for me)He was however very keen on the rabbit's as there were signs all over the place....we wernt after rabbits but he did bolt one and had small run but through gorse and thick heather and ferms and uphill he just missed it....Anyway after a 20 min walk we headed back to mine and then ray headed off....Real nice guy and a pleasure to speak to....
