Davey44 0
Hi everyone. I am an air gunner with a coule of very big permissions but am finding it hard to shoot much due to the place being very open and exposed. I have made a hide a few times and bagged a few bunnies and pigeons but I like to wander and with them being such vast pieces of land the variation is nice to be in. This brings the obvious problem I.e. I find it difficult getting close enough to shoot anything, there is a lot of quarry on the land but most of which is way out of range for my sub 12er. This brings me to raising this post. I am going to apply for my FAC but have no idea really about rifle types, ammo sizes, types and uses, which ammo for which job etc etc.......I guess some of the principles from air gunning apply but have no idea where or how. I am shooting vermin mostly and maybe the odd fox, I need something, which will give me decent range and a ammo to match. Any advice, guidance and help that anyone feels like leaving will be very much appreciated!!! Quote Link to post

Rake aboot 4,936
Rabbits Easy choice .22lr . CZ452 in synthetic with a Parker Hale moderator shooting Winchester super X subsonic ammo. Best set up by far, and also one of the cheapest. All tree shooting should be done with the air rifle. Quote Link to post
