We have qualifiers coming forward from Birr last year. This year's qualifying heats are : Saturday 14th April "Annaghmore Raceway" Show, Annaghmore, Co Armagh, Just off the motorway Sunday May 6th Ballywalter Game Fair, Ballywalter Co Down ( 5th & 6th May 2012) Saturday May 12th Lawrencetown Show, Co Down Sunday May 20th Mourne Charity Show at Glasdrumman Saturday June 9th Clondulane Country Fair Clondulane Village, Fermoy Co. Cork Saturday 7th July Irish Game Fair Shanes Castle : Master Mc Grath Final Also Novice Racing Challenge ( final) and the 25th Annual All Ireland Racing Championships Sunday 8th July Irish Game Fair Shanes Castle: AND the All Ireland Terrier , Whippet and Lurcher Championships qualifying heat for the Five Nations Championships. All qualifers who run receive an engraved trophy and a qualifers scroll. Top prize this year is £500 , a top quality Barbour Coat and other supporting prizes. Plus of course they can also compete in the 25th All Ireland Terrier & Lurcher Championship Events. Each Qualifier for the Five Nations receives four tickets for the Birr Fair, a year's subscription to the Irish Countrysports and Country Life and when they appear at birr to compete €50 towards expenses, an engraved trophy and a qualifiers scroll. Top prize is €500, a good quality Barbour coat and other supporting prizes. Plus of course they can also compete in the ROI Terrier & Lurcher Championship Events. I forgot to say that the Over & Under 23" dogs from Shane Lee's recent racing meeting have also qualified for the Master Mc Grath Final. We are happy to take another couple of Irish Shows , one more Welsh one and a couple more English shows to give a good representation from all over these islands.
