pointer28 1
Looking great Whitser!! We have had quite a few harrier x beagles over the years. The extra bit of size comes in quite useful, especially in the country we hunt as there is an awful lot of tight sheep wire and some of the smaller beagles have trouble getting over it. Unfortunately, as we're now a registered pack, we have to breed to a stud book standard and hounds above a certain height aren't allowed in, regardless of breeding or parentage. So, we now tend to breed to the maximum height that we can because it suits us. I know a lot of packs that hunt very small, fine, light boned beagles, which is fine if you're hunting open grassland, but we've had a few and they have been a disaster with us. Quote Link to post
