del040 1
hi lads just thought i would let you know about the first class service i got from falcon optics this week.i bought a falcon merlin the other week (second hand) it looked first class whe i got it nice and clear when i looked through it .so put it on the rifle when up in the feild the only way to get a clear picture at 30 yards was to turn it up to infinity not so good although it did zero in with no prob . so what to do back home wrote an email to falcon optics asked if they done a repair / service for scopes that have been bought second hand . in short yep send it to us with money to cover shipping back to yourself and we will fix for free great i thought sent the scope to them and on the same day of them getting it the sent me an email saying that they could fix it but it would look bad as the people who had it before had done a really good job a nackering it . so we will send you a new one if thats ok with you wow first class service . thank you nick and falcon optics the scopes am going to be sticking with atb del Quote Link to post
.338LM 10
I have heard various reports about Falcon, however I tent to like to find things out for myself. I stuck a falcon menace onto my TRG 42 quite some time ago as they advertise that the glass will handle the recoil of the .338. I took some stick from a few of the lads doing so. Well, I zero'd, shot the box three times with perfect results. Shot out to 1400m and back with no problems whatsoever. That glass has now been on the TRG for over two years without a single problem to date. I have shot some two thousand rounds in that time and if anything gives a vote of confidence its reliability. Metalman2 45
How do you rate the glass, was thinking of an FFP scope, but was put off by a few comments from other sources, cheers Rich Quote Link to post
.338LM 10
I bought the glass to stick on either the .22 or the 5.56 primarily for practice work using a FFP on these rifles in field conditions. I cannot afford to stick a S&B on all my rifles (who can). Now the old adage is spend the money on the glass rather than the rifle and I would agree with that, having said that the glass in the Falcon is certainly not 20 times worse than a S&B. When you look through the glass you can see its not top range. Having said that it is very good for what you pay for it. The image is sharp with a little 'ringing' towards the edge of the lenses. The dials are spongy but that is easily rectified, most importantly working through the dials remains consistent as does increasing and decreasing the mag. All in all, I would say that either I have been lucky and got hold of a good one or they are good value for the money you pay for them. At the end of the day: it does what it says on the tin and yes, they are (so far) .338LM recoil resistant. Hope this helps. Quote Link to post
