bunnyman 68
Hi ,i only recently joined this fine forum, , i am into NV and am lucky to own a few different nv scopes, i have the NS200 from Nite Site i think most of you will have seen reports of its setup basicaly you mount a camera on the back of your scope and look at a screen mounted above your scope point and shoot , by the way the screen and camera can be mounted on either side of your scope to suit what position you want it in, i have made a few mods to my unit first of all i have mounted the camera unit to the back of my scope with a Cobra/Merlin DSA as this holds it more securely than the rubber sleeve supplied, i also use a lithium ion battery pack as this 100% lighter than the battery supplied,, The screen glare has been reduced by over 70% by application of a coloured gel screen cover, the range of the onboard Led IR in my experience is around 170 yds making it ideal for my fac airguns and rimfires .22LR and my .17HMR ,its easy to change from one gun to another ,i have used this on hunting trips and it works very well, i have done a review on this onother forums, the NS50 is for sub 12fpe air guns and is in black and white format as apposed to the NS200 which has a colour camera ,the ns50 works fine out to 60yds + making it fine for sub 12fpe guns ,i use my unit on my small shoots i,e back gardens ,small paddocks , where i cannot use my fac or rimfires, i am happy with both of these units and they do what i require of them, regards Brian Quote Link to post
Sweeney-Todd 208
Hi Brian. Welcome to THL Another user of the ns50/200 , well made bit of kit isnt it There are a few of us on here now with these units, and all happy with the results we are getting. The Mods you mention are worth doing, but not essential, as the units opperate fine without any alterations to the origanal set up. With exception of the Housebrick battery that is The filter on the screen is a good addition, as it helps with your night vision, but as far as the back light from the screen goes, it does not bother the bunnies at all! You are more likely to spook the quarry by moving about to get within range than you are of spooking them with the back light from the screen I found basic field craft still applies no matter how good the unit Have you tried any footage yet, or do you just enjoy shooting with it?
