Russell 0
There's a pretty good & free ballistic reticule calculator programme on the Hawke site - http://www.hawkeoptics.com/brc/index.htm
SNAP SHOT 194
420 yards is a hell of a long shot, and thanks for the info. Yeah macnas!! not to blow my own trumpet but it looked a hell of a long way away too... it was a very good night and not a breeze, no livestock, with a safe backstop and no houses so i decided to take the shot and surprised myself Its my longest shot yet an i've been shooting since i was an ankle biter. I saved my money and bought the best i could afford, then the credit union took a knock and i decided to top it off with a leupold M1 mark4 lr/t scope mil-dot. and i'm over the moon with it. An old friend said to me whatever you do spend the same amount if not more on the scope than the rifle As its the piece of kit that you need to be good. So i've always lived buy the motto buy once, costly yes!! but not in the long run. :thumbs-up: After i paid that off, the union took another hit And i bought a range finder. So when i'm after charlie firstly i give him a quick range, and have a bullet drop card on my scope from ranges 200 to 600 in 25 yard increments i take a look at the clicks needed dia lup on the turrets and pull the trigger, after a while you will remember the clicks up for a least up to 400 yards, then your laughing i would recommend this way as it works.. ps you need a chrony to see what your bullets are doing speed wise also. so i've been kitted out for a few years now. and charlie takes a hit 99% of the time using this method. Glad to be of help to anybody in this little community. keep it real. Edited May 2, 2007 by SNAP SHOT
