The Duncan 802
Went out with my mate Dale for a roost shoot today as he was banging on about this new roost he'd got permission on with "literally thousands pouring into it". To cut a long story short, we were there for 2 hours and saw a few really high flocks passing over but next to nothing coming in. We did toast a couple of crows, and one hapless pigeon that happened along at the wrong time. What I got most of was back and neck ache from staring up for ages. Still, it would be called bagging instead of hunting if we filled our boots every time wouldn 't it? As a consolation, there were thousands of tits, bullfinches, chaffinches, wood sparrows and various other songbirds singing their hearts out as the golden sun sank over the horizon and dappled the trees with sensuous burnt orange glow. Memorable I am beginning to hate pigeons though Quote Link to post
