martin 332
I've just got in from doing a bit of rabbit control(to enable me to keep my permission)and my brother in law shot this big buck rabbit..............now when I saw it properly in the light at home,I had to weigh it.I can't remember shooting or ferreting one quite as big,and wondered what you all thought.Have you had bigger(I'm probably gonna guess yes)??................He weighed in at a whopping 3lb 8oz after being paunched,so I would guess, probably a good 4lb live weight............here he is with an average sized rabbit......... Guest Ditch_Shitter
I've handled four pounders before now, mate. 100% Domestic bleeders! I reckon ye might have some released pet blood on that ground. Without even needing to look at ye photo there, I at once remembered the things I weighed in at four pound. And yeppers; Bloody enormous a rabbit has to be to hit that weight! Bet ye glad ye shot the sod, rather than find him balled up in a net, eh? Give ye a start, that would! OldTrapCollector 377
Bet ye glad ye shot the sod, rather than find him balled up in a net, eh? Give ye a start, that would! I once ferreted a 'Pet's Corner' at a local safari park with a few lads years ago and we bolted some oddities from there including a huge one which had me worried when I jumped on the net, it was a real 'long wheel base' rabbit, probably crossed with one of the belgian hares or something from the park. It must have been an 8 pounder but I suppose that it was half expected in a place like that. It still had me worried when it hit the net all the same . . . OTC
