wink hound 0
I have a border terrier here, free to a GOOD home. He is 5(ish) years old. I had him from a pup and used him only for mink hunting for several seasons, he also did some cold scent work with my old man on deer and a lot of rats with me. I gave him away at the start of last season to what I though would be a good home. My season ended and I though it would be a good opportunity to check up on him, I found a dog that barely resembled the one that left my kennels, he hadn’t been beaten or abused or anything like that, he was just being fed badly and was unfit and clearly not loved, I came home with the dog. He has improved 10 fold in the week I have had him and is returning to his former self, but needs a bit of TLC. He is genuine in everyway, will hunt up, kill, mark, bush etc but will not go to ground, has only on very few occasions (and never done anything). So he is simply not suited to me, which is sadly really because he is one of the nicest natured dogs I have worked with, he’s obedient and loyal, great with kids and other dogs and 100% stock broken. I truly believe he will make someone a great little companion in the hunt field; he will work on his own, or with a pack, with lurchers. Whatever you ask of him, I think he will achieve it, just not as an earth dog. He is registered but…………The other request I have is that he will never be breed from. The simple reason that he is not what I consider a true terrier to be, i.e. an earth dog, so there is little point in breeding from him. If you need confirmation of how I keep my dogs or the standards I expect from them it can easily be arranged. Cheers wink ps will get pictures up later and im in Gloustershire.
