old real tree 92
hi peeps i had arranged a fews hours out with malc off here so loaded the dog in to the van and set off at 9 15, i got up to his place around 11 25, after a cuppa and a chat we headed off (12 o clock), no moon and some cloud cover, had a quick shine in his next door neighbours garden and to our surprise there was a bunny sat out, malc sends murph over jumping a 5 foot fence turns it a few times and it gets away under a fence.both of us jump in the van and head for his permission, parked the van safely and we were off, first few fields was quiet but we soon started to see a few,got to a recently ploughed field so i put my bitch on the lead as i didnt want her getting injures because the last time i ran her on a rubbly field she knocked her self up, malc scans the field and we see a squatter sitting tight, murph is on it and off it goes, turns a few times and murph nails it. walked a bit further and we saw another murph on its tail again, it turns and stops facing the dog, murph slows up as he wasnt sure which way it was going to run, neither myself or malc has ever seen a rabbit stop and face the dog before it takes off again, anyway murph catches it and retreives it well, we get out of the rutty / rubble field and millie has a few runs, over a gate in to a new field, lamp on only to see a mink running [bANNED TEXT] accress our path. nice too see but dogs didnt know what to make of it, anyway few hours later and time was getting on so we headed back to the van, rabbit count was 9, not bad for 2 unfit dogs, neither of us have had much time to get out due to work commitments and x mas, back to malcs about 3 with 2 nackaed dogs. i got in to bed at 5 with the 2 hour drive home great walk out, great company as usual see you soon hope you all enjoy the read, sorry no pics ort Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,217
Well done matey the thing with mink, is that a dog broken to ferrets is often a wee bit confused i guess. Just took finn out back and had a couple of runs, which he caught, then he half kncoked himself out crashing into a metal sheet in the hedge Quote Link to post
