Yokel Matt 918
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/6566811.stm If the parents of the poor nipper win the legal side against the dog owner that could set a dangerous legal precedent, which needless to say is just what the RSPCA and anti's would exploit

Yokel Matt 918
Sorry chaps... I forgot that it's necessary to make sure i clarify every potential sticking point or area of confusion of a post so that things are not taken the wrong way. Of course what happened to the child is horrible The point was, if you read the article, that it says the law only covers dog attacks in public places. All i was suggesting was that, if parents win the case and successfully get compensation... as they probably should... it could mark another change in the law in addition to the extra powers the RSPCA were recently granted. i.e... some curtain twitching nause over the road reports your dog a danger (as they don't like you because you hunt fluffy animals.)... and that they are 'concerned' for OUR kids in OUR own homes... and it wouldn't be restricted to dogs on the 'dangerous dogs' list  And no... i don't have a dog myself (yet)... just you guys that do might find it interesting. edited to say that IMO there should be no second chances for any dog that does something like this... the owner needs a shake down for showing such unsensitivity and risking that it happen again. Guest Ditch_Shitter
For one thing: " A complaint was made to Dyfed-Powys Police, but officers were unable to do anything about it because legislation only covers attacks in a public place, and this happened in a private house. " What a f*cking crock!!! The " Pit Bull Type " Dog that killed that chavvie in that Crack House was clearly in a 'private house' too. Look what happened there ~ and there after! That aside; Where's all our " Blame the Deed, Not the Breed " rhetoric gone now then?! Shoot the f*cking worthless canine and then hang the f*ck wit owner out to dry! That would be exactly as it Should be! What so many of us Want done. How else would ye have it? Hand them yet another " Dangerous Type " of Dog? Or just let pricks go round letting their poxy Akita's rip into people with impunity? Feel free to tell me Your Akita's a lamb around all other Dogs and people. Go ahead. But I've known a fair few and, to a one, they've been ~ by the owners own admissions ~ trecherous b*stards. Just that they have longer coats and KC recognition ..... poacherjim 0
correct! a neighbour of mine has one and it is the only dog that gives me the eeby jeebies it just stares and you can tell what its thinking it wants to have a go!! it doesnt growl or bark it just stares its already bitten two people but luckily for him nothing serious (yet ) he thinks its the dogs b******s but i think its just a bomb waiting to go off. can someone tell me whats the point of having a dog that you cant let off the lead for a run its got to be cruel to keep it in on a lead all the time he took it to obedience training classes but they refused it as they wont take the dogs as they are too nasty bitches are a bit better but not much! and the ironic thing is hes an animal loving veggie, that is a breed of dog that should be banned not bulls!! id rather be in a room with a bull than one of these loonies

red dog 3
about 10 years ago i had a little whippet x collie, when she was 3 years old she got a bit sharp, one night she jumped a 5'4" fence grabbed hold of a passing women through the railings one snap and the poor women had a black bruise as big as an apple with 4 red score marks off the fangs, i said i would put the dog down but fair play to the women she said no and did not kick up a fuss, needless to say me and the dog went for the long walk the next day , the way i looked at it could have been a child, you have to get your priorties right even if it hurts

" Forgive me for not being fully converese in all matters of a legislative nature regarding cannine attacks- , but only last year in some town in some area- A homeowner was successfully ??? prosecuted after there small mutt bit some scrote while he was helping himself to stuff in their garden shed, If I remember rightly and please don't quote me on this, they were responsible for an offence of assault due to the dog not being under proper control!!!!!!!! well feck me,!! it goes to show the worlds feckin mad. But I still stick by what I stated earlier if it was my dog-it would be dead instantly If it was my Kid-it would be dead instantly My Heart goes out to the child, and her family, I pray she makes a full recovery with no lasting effects
BLACKBOB 9
I agree with most of the above and i know from experience what these dogs are like, as a mate of mine had one and he was petrified of it, but his misses loved it and could do anything with it, one day it went for my mate and luckly he had a piece of 2x2 in his had, which he felt he had to carry with him when in the garden with the dog Needless to say the dog is no longer. Anyway just to put another view on the case, personally im very wary of my two year old with my own dogs who i know are bomb proof, but theres no way on earth that id take my two year old anywhere near a dog like that or at the very least i would be carrying her. I know thats easy to say in hind sight but ive had experience with dogs who are great with adults but can be very wary of children, so it dose make me very cautious with other peoples dogs. Anyway thats just my opinion and i hope this little girl can get over this ordeal and her perents thank their lucky stars it was not worse. Cheers bob
