Mick C. 229
Had a run out with a mate this morning. Started out at seven oclock and got to the location just as it was breacking dawn. Took the one dog two ferrets and about forty nets. The wood that held the rabbits was at the top of a steep incline.I felt knackered by the time we got to the wood. It was well worth it though - the veiws were stunning. About eight rabbits had been caught inthis clump of trees about two weeks earlier. So i thought to myself if we can repeat this score we will be doing well. Netted up the first set and entered the jill.Afew minutes later we had our first rabbit of the day. There was then some rumbling underground then all went quiet. Got a mark on the gill with the locator just before she decided to show at the entrance of a burrow It was time for the second season hob to be entered. We soon located is whereabouts and had an easy two foot dig to a rabbit that had jammed himself up a stop end.Another two foot dig was needed to extract bunny number three. Moved onto the second set a few more holes to this one.Looked deeper as well. We decided to give the jill another go as we didnt want to get held up with any deepish digs. In a few minutes four rabbits had been netted. The jill showed and we decided to move on Their was probebly one or two more in there but there was no call to systematically clear everyone. The next small set drew a blank The dog marked the final set of the day we netted up and turned the young gill in for the last timeThree more rabbits hit the nets . We weremore than happy with the result eight netted two digs and no losses and it was all down bank back to the van Catch yer later Quote Link to post
