igave the gun a complete make over even with out drilling the air port the gun was hitting 17ftlbs

WARNING; DRILLING THE AIR TRANSFER PORT (the little hole where the air comes from chamber into the barrel) WILL WRECK YOUR RIFLE AND MAKE IT USELESS.

WHY?

An air weapon (pcp or springer) works buy pushing stored air into the release port, there is a very slight delay ( part of the process called lock time) before the skirt of the pellet is expanded by this air, presure builds up and forces the pellet down the barrel. this works by air being pushed from a large diameter storage area. on a springer it will be caused by the piston being flung forward down the chamber, on a pcp it will be the release valve being opened. the build up of air relies on the transfer port being small, causing the air to travel out of the port fast, making it bigger will slow down the speed of the air being released through the transfer port causing the pellet to travel at a vastly slower rate of ft per sec. all this adds up to a knackered gun.

If you doubt my words try it on you gun at home and see for yourselves
