11 on boxing day

well it was a windy day but it was better to be in the field than be in the house.. so the 4 of us was off out and my brother was with the 410.. we started well got 2 out off the first warren and missing 1 with the 410.moved on to the next warren i netted up every thing on my side and my brother left every thing open on his side in goes the ferret and she was down for about 10min couldnt hear nothing then next thing bang rabbit hit the net and try to go back down and ferret was there to meet it, put ferret inn another warren few yards down the wall and waiting and waiting, but nothing so had a look with the box and couldnt find nothing ( F**k batterys had gone dead in colar ) so waited around for hour and half then ferret decided to come out full of fure on her feet..

After sorting out new batteries and try the colar we where back on track.

got to a little warren 6 holes in the ferret goes wasnt long got a mark on 1ft dug down ferret stuck on, out they come back fill and moved on..

Moved on to a warren with holes all over the show so let ferret down and see how my brother would get on with the 410 the rabbit where flying out every where ducking an diving throught the brambles, it was a job to get his shot off and finaly 1 broke out and he missed (lol) and then another broke out the other was along a stone wasll and that 1 got away ( now i was laughing ) so my other brother desided to have a shot well another broke out and he shot that 1 ( i think it was a luck shot ) but he missed the next 1..i think on that warren we bolted 5 but got the 1. we moved on to another warren and my brother was quik to drop a rabbit after the bad misses earlier.

we entered the ferret in to an easy 3 holer in a field and wasnt long rabbit was in the net.by this time off the day it was getting late and i could resist throwing the ferret in the last warren.

the warren had a gd few holes and neva bothered netting up just took a chance on wat we got, the ferret was down for 15-20 min found with the box at 1ft dug down and to finish the day off i pulled 4 very healthy big rabbits out. was a good day out but shame about the wind but cant have every thing on our side..the ferret is this year jill and she been out a hand full of times and she is working really well.
