A late mooch over at my local permission Sat evening

Hi all ,as people who know me know I'm not much of a one for posting write ups so here goes .I went for a late mooch on my local permission with my trusty AA s400 .177 topped with a 4-16-50 MTC Mamba + Gen 2 Nite Watch P2000 .The permission consists of 4 fields that form a paddocks area for five or six horses .Having done all the preliminaries at home before I left I knew as long as I didn't knock or drop my gun it would be spot on .I pulled up at the permission at 10.15 having called Thames Valley's finest before I left home .I crossed one field having scanned the area and at the fence line I spotted an average sized bunny about 70 yards away .I had to get closer so that ment I had to climb through a three bar fence and then over a five bar gate .I crept another 20 yards or so and there he was not a clue he'd been spotted.I judged him to be 35 yards away now bang on my zero so I decided to take him with a free standing shot as the ground was saturated in wet mud .I raised my rifle nice and steady couple of deep breaths and then fired then the familiar sound pellet on skull followed by a huge three foot back flip .On further inspection I was well chuffed as you can see .

This was the only kill of the evening as I'd missed a couple of shots due to too much hold over .With the moon being so bright I didn't even need ir laser so after giving it another hour or so decided to head home .

I dont think it matters if you dont get anything. You still have lots of fun having a walk around the fields anyway.

Nice Pil, It sounds like a successful night for you then sir. I enoyed reading that. I am hopeing to try and get out myself very soon and go for a little shoot with Si. It will seem funny shooting over 20 yards - ish and not on my garden.

Hi Tanican,yes it was nice to just get out bunny was a bonus ,working seven days silly long hours for the last month.I've met Si a real nice fella you won't go wrong with him by your side ,let is know how you get on .
