Laying Nets

Even set nets on nettle stalks and used drawing pins to hold them when ferreting under a stable block and twigs when ferreting a stone pile , theres no set way only good way is when the rabbits in the bag

instead of drawing pins.i use tacks/small nails with no head on them.net comes off them easy and they dont pull out. can be kept in for future outings.atb.

As has been said, you learn as you go along. I prefer foot in hole and spread the net to open the meshes over the hole. Theory behind that is, rabbits stands on net and meshes it,s head as it bolts. But, as has been stated it does not always work like that. There are a few rules that need following though, always keep your drawstring tight, if you drawstrings are long tie a knot about 3 to 6 inches from the ring then you can place the peg infront of the knot if needs be., carry a pack of toothpicks in your pocket, to be used as prickers, they can hold up a net or even the ring in hard places.

also use these for holding nets/rings etc in certain situations. they can be cut to length,used time and time again strong and flexible.
