zx10mike 137 Posted November 20, 2011 Report Share Posted November 20, 2011 hi chaps,just would like your opinion on this if you would be kind enough. normally shoot the 40grn v max out of my .204 1 in 11 twist wich groups well @ 100 yds but at range they open up eg 200 yrd 3" 300 yds 5-6" i tried the 40 grn bergers this week and it loves them nice at 100 and 1" at 200 i will try at longer range soon. i am wondering how well do bergers fragment compared to v max i am sure i have heard that the penatration is greater and less energy is dumped on impact? Hawkeye. 26 Posted December 8, 2011 Report Share Posted December 8, 2011 Hi, I haven't used the 40g but am using the 35g Berger's. Grouping = 3 shots with 1 very slightly enlarged impact hole in the target at 100yds. Foxes shot at under 100yds have large exit hole over that distance is entry wound only . Always dead- no runners. Impact seems to be where I want it with no drift. Quote Link to post
